The most popular and easiest to build kit car in the world.
The exoskeletal chassis and lightweight GRP panels gives the Exocet a massively improved power to weight ratio as the MX5 is almost 50% heavier! Using a Mazda MX5 Mk1, Mk2 or Mk3 donor is easy, there is plenty of choice and donors can be bought for as little as £200. An MOT failure with V5 is ideal as it is usually the case that the body is rotten and it’s not required.
No need to even remove an engine and all the associated parts, or use alternative suspension components, it all stays in situ. The builder can simply remove the MX5 monocoque and replace it with the G=type Exocet chassis.
With the ability to sell on any parts not used in the build, the donor may even end up costing you nothing!
The Exocet has a lightweight tubular fully triangulated space frame chassis, built to the highest standard and approved by our structural engineer. Any model donor from 1989-2015 can be used and for those with deeper pockets the ultimate Exocet uses the NC (MK3) donor and it’s 2.0 all alloy engine with alloy wishbones. Any performance upgrade available for the MX5 will work on the Exocet including brakes, forced induction and throttle bodies.
Standard cars can accommodate drivers from 5’ to 6’3” and there is generous width for large boned drivers too!
The parts retained from the donor car, married together with the Exocet kit will give you everything you need to build your kit except for the lighting set.
